Visited Brew 22 on 2/14/10 for Valentine’s Brunch. Thought we’d give it a shot given we had a buy one/get one free coupon from the “clipper” magazine. Seating was quick but waiter did not come to our table for about 7-10 minutes (and it was not very busy at all). We sat for 5 minutes before we asked the hostess if we were to wait for the server or go up to the brunch tables. Food was marginal. French toast was hard, syrup was cakey. Omlette was pretty tasty. Pasta and bacon were OK. The best part was the fresh cut fruit.
Expected the brunch to cost about $12-15 since there was no a huge selection of food and it was not exceptional in taste. We were shocked when we got our bill (for 2 people) totalling $54. The brunch was $22/person. We handed the coupon to the waiter and then got the new receipt, which was $45. Apparently, the Brew 22 definitiion of “buy one get one free” was $8 off the $22 brunch because the coupon was only good for $8. Would probably not go back for brunch unless the price was drastically reduced. Might try a regular meal because we really enjoyed “atlantis; the name of the former restaurant there. We think atlantis was owned by the same corporation.
