We dine at Chinese buffets in the area at least twice a month. Many are now closer to our home. Out of about a dozen different places visited over the past ten years, JADE, has always been our favorite for food quality, flavor, and the uniqueness of their recipes. The competition in the Harrisburg, PA area has provided diners with an excellent value. Know that these restaurants operate on very slim margins, and the busier the place, the better the food quality. In a tough economy, to ask for a fully replenished buffet just before closing time when the restaurant is empty is absurd. Get there at least two hours before scheduled closing for the best experience. If you want something, simply ask. They have often offered to bring us whatever food we requested as it got later and the restaurant emptied. As with any dining experience, be nice to your servers, and they will be nice to you! And, if you weren’t clear, we love Jade. Five stars.
The staff was rude and the food bland and greasy. I went with my girlfriend towards the end of the night and though the restaurant was advertised as being open for another fourty-five minutes, the buffet was not restocked the entire time we were there and many of the trays were emptied or cooked beyond palatable. Our waters were refilled only once each and we were glared at or ignored. I would not tolerate such rudeness from a good restaurant, but from one mediocre at best such service has prompted me to tell all my acquaintances to avoid dining at the Jade.

This piece was cogent, well-wtiretn, and pithy.

we enjoyed the food and atmosphere at their old location better. it is now just another Chinese buffet, before it was someplace special.
