   Mixed bag Friday at Julianas. The menu could have been better, but the food was good - Shrimp Diavolo nicely spiced and lots of large, succulent shrimp. (Get ‘em now while you can!) Tablemate enjoyed the Linguine w/White clam sauce (no red clam sauce??). Eggplant rolatini a nice, non-filling appetizer, and mussels were an extremely generous portion.

   Then there was the service. Our waiter told us about three times that it was his first night. Not a great excuse. But from the service,I wondered if he had ever EATEN in a restaurant, much less worked in one. Pleasant, but really awful, awful service. And maybe when the other staff recognized he was struggling, they tried to help. What didn’t help was when they almost got in an argument at our table. Much room for improvement on this score.
