I have had great experiences at this restaurant. The alfredo sauce is wonderful, The red sauce and the meat dishes are great as well. I agree this is the best Italian restaurant in the area. You must try the tiramisu.

On 2 previous occasions, we enjoyed Juliana’s immensely. Several months ago, a local business offered gift certificates at 1/2 price for Juliana’s. We purchased two of them. We used the 1st one shortly after Valentine’s day. The restaurant was very busy and the servers were hurried. I ordered the prime rib and my wife ordered stuffed shells. My salad was loaded with garbonzo beans, which I do not like so the salad was a waste. The prime rib was ok, but nothing great. My wife said her shells tasted like the frozen ones with a jarred sauce. We chalked it up to being busy.
This past weekend, we decided to use the other gift certificate and do take-out. I ordered Chicken Alfredo with fettuchini and broccoli. My wife ordered a scallop and shrimp pasta dish and we also ordered a slice of the chocolate cake ($7). The Alfredo sauce was very weak and didn’t add anything to the dish. The broccoli was a pale green. Fair, but have had much better Alfredo dishes elsewhere. The scallops in the other dish were still fleshy and undercooked, as was the pasta. The cake, for $7, was definitely nothing special. All in all, it’s the last time we eat there, 1/2 price or not. This used to be a good place to eat. Not sure what’s going on there but also saw in a local business trade paper that they had a lien placed on them for a substantial amount of back taxes (Central PA Business Journal, listed as 6018 Carlisle Pike Restaurant LLC, issue 4/11/08)

My wife and I have eaten there twice and plan on going again this week. We enjoy the food and the wait staff has been great. I’m not so happy reading the comment about the chef cleaning his nails but I’ve been impressed so far!

We went in February and after we ate, we watched one of the cooks take a huge knife and clean his fingernails over the counter - WHILE HE WAS FACING DINERS. I couldn’t see what was on the counter. After our stomachs settled, we called the manager, who was also appalled.

Yes, Linda. I have to say I disagree. This remains the best Italian restaurant in the area, with dishes you won’t get anywhere else. I detected no decrease in portions … just great food.
