The LBC in Lancaster has always been an “Odd” place in my opinion(and the food was below Avg.).
This new Harrisburg location is MUCH CLEANER and not “Rode Hard and Put Away Wet” like L-town is.
The beer is O.K. at both but the only GREAT BEER they brew is the Hog Wild I.P.A. in my opinion.
I went to the H-burg location and ordered the chicken wing apetizer which has the non- descript word “smoked” in it’s description.
They tasted horrible and not what you expect when you order chicken wings anywhere else.
Every bartender and waitress should warn EVERYONE who orders the chicken wings that they are “SMOKED” (reiterated at least 2 to 3 times) and then ask if they still want to order them because they taste like no other chicken wing anywhere else.

In response to the “person” who lies about gibraltar being closed on his Sept. 10 post, it is a LIE!!!! If it were closed there would be by law 2 things: a sign on the door by the health department declaring said action and a terrible review printed in paper. Without facts and reality, everything else is slander and quotation marks. While every restaurant has areas for improvement, what ideas and areas in life doesn’t. Go back to nasty Olive Garden or other sub-restaurants where it is truly greasy and you are more likely to get poisoned ( anybody remember Jack-in-the-box.)

Thanks meadowrose, that means a lot. I hope that you and your friends go again sometime! My favorite part of LBC was having the opportunity to help make parties and events memorable for groups, and it sounds like your’s was. That is probably what I will miss the most.

Hey Jim, sorry to see you leave LBC. My group of friends, which was about 25 of us when to LBC when it first opened, they didn’t even have their back room done yet. Our group loved the food and the service.

In response to you foodcritic, you are 100% correct. Up until I left two weeks ago, I was the manager at the LBC in Harrisburg. I left for a different line of work, not because of the Keares family. To be honest, I didn’t hear about Gibraltar, it got shut down? Hmm. Anyway, my only point in my last posting was that it is unfair to judge a place on one meal when they first opened, especially if I comped the meal, which was my practice if people were unhappy. I just feel like some people take these reviews too seriously. If you don’t like a place, don’t go again. Just for a little background, LBC in Harrisburg has a new chef, and he is fantastic. Anyway, I am not affiliated with the place anymore, it was just my two cents. Everyone, enjoy your dinner!

I ate at LBC a little over a month ago. I thought the food was very good (scallop appetizer & shrimp pesto pizza as main). Others at the table had a salad and ribs, everyone enjoyed their meal. I got the beer sampler, which was great (Nice to try their beers outside of Strawberry wheat & milk stout, which I am not a huge fan of). Service was excellent. Made me wish ABC’s food was on par with this brewpub.

In response to Jim, you sound like the someone who works for LBC. As a matter of fact, Jim was the Manager that greeted us at the door when my Wife, Business associate and I were sat in the restaurant. I ate there twice and have not been impressed yet. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant, the Ny Strip was tough and the best part of the whole meal was my server who was very knowledgeable about the food and the beer. As far as the other properties go, I wouldn’t eat at them anyways because their best one, “Gibraltar” was shut down by the Health Department to fix their “problematic issues.” I would hate to see how the rest of the Keares Properties are including this one.

Hey DoRight1, isn’t it kind of dumb to post about a bad experience that happened so long ago, and also, every new place has growing pains. Since the first trip didn’t cost you anything, you should try it again before you write such a silly review.

My girlfriend and I have not been back since the week they opened. Waited over an hour to get our dinner because they lost the order and if you are going to open make sure the place is done remodeling.. Mashed Potatoes were cold.. We did complain and they gave us a free meal which was nice.. Not looking to go back anytime soon..

After reading all these reviews, I was excited to try LBC for dinner. I’ve been to Keares’ Gibralter in Lancaster and thought it to be one of the best anywhere in Central PA. LBC, however, was a disappointment. The artichoke dip was average at best. The kids menu was good, but then when it came, the carrots were so seasoned my son would not eat them and the mashed potatoes had garlic in them. This is fine for adults, but any parent knows kids like plain food. Overall, it was just okay but not worth the money. We are in no hurry to go back.
