Mangia Qui is, by FAR, the BEST restaurant in Harrisburg. Suba is fantastic too. Don’t listen to the reviews below–I’ve eaten in fine restaurants all over the world and gourmet food is a personal hobby of mine–this place is great. She (the owner) uses all locally grown, fresh ingredients and her ever-changing menu is creative and delicious. She is a real student of the culinary world, which is VERY rare for ANY PA restaurant, let alone those in Harrisburg. It IS pricey but you get what you pay for at Mangia Qui!

Overpriced and overrated especially when there is a huge black hair on your plate and the server is oblvivious about the chopped and butchered oysters! I can;t see the hype about this place at all! I guess most of these reviewers lead a sheltered life and have not experienced real food done right in ohter cities…let alone here!

My wife and I were in town for the Fab Faux show in Harrisburg on Valentine’s Day (2/14/09). The next day we decided on Sunday Brunch at Mangia Qui and were quite pleased with our choice. The food is very reasonably priced and the ingredients and taste were off the charts. We opted for a daily special tapas plate for an appetizer. I had the Italian Breakfast and my wife had the asparagus and tomato dish. For desert, we chose the lemon almond torte. All courses were perfectly prepared and the freshness of the ingredients was very notable. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our experience and have since made the 1 hour trip north from our home to have that delicious Sunday brunch again. Our distance from this restaurant is the only thing preventing us from visiting more often.

We have been eating here about once per month for several years now, and in our opinion, Mangia Qui quite simply serves the best food in Central PA - excellent high-quality fresh ingredients, superbly prepared, across a constantly changing menu that provides a variety of amazing dishes - particulary the primi piatti pastas . . . not to mention an excellent wine list! Great food, great service, great place.

We took out of town visitors to this place after reading great reviews. We were very disappointed! First of all, the place was way too crowded, hot and stuffy. We were greeted (if you can call it that) by a rather dour looking person, not at all friendly. The food was ok - the service was not. I had to ask several times for a refill on coffee, including once from a waitress other than ours. I expected a much different experience.

My husband and I love this place beyond words. Everytime we get a moment to ourselves this is where we spend it. The food is mouth watering and the service has always been great.

A word of advice if you’ve never been to Mangia Qui - rearrange your to do list. This place is well worth the visit! The downstairs is a very nice, quaint Italian restaurant and the upstairs is a gorgeous tapas bar called Suba complete with a high wooden beamed ceiling, colorful artwork, and detailed spanish decor.

I chose to stop in on a Sunday for brunch and eat at a table outside on North Street. The service was good and the atmosphere very relaxed, but it was the food that most impressed me. The menu had quite a few great options on it which made the decision difficult but in the end I ordered the Italian breakfast - pecan raisin sweet bread dipped in egg, sauteed, topped with mascarpone and powdered sugar served with bacon. Was I ever impressed! The Italian style french toast was outstanding and the bacon was cooked perfectly, crispy and heavily peppered. My girlfriend ordered the Mozzarella en carrozza, a delicious grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. The soup turned out to be more of a dipping sauce but the two together were good to the last bite. Come to think of it, there wasn’t a bite left after all was said and done. The restaurant is known for using local produce and while the prices are a little higher, the quality of the food is well worth it. I’ve already put trying the tapas bar upstairs at the top of my to do list.

I eat there often, not only is the food great but they provide a lunch card where after so many purchases you get one free. The food is amazing. I agree with the comment above high quality ingredients. The soups are homemade and wonderful and everything else i have had so far was as well. The prices are fair. Overall I must personally say my favorite restaurant in the area.

I have been eating here for 6 years. I would have if I did not love it. High quality ingredients, superbly prepared and well worth the expense. Great wine list to boot (by the glass or bottle)The tuscan grill (dry aged rib eye grilled with sea salt & served with a spicy sauce), Scallops with meyer lemon risotto, the calamari (light and devoid of grease), Osso Bucco (in the fall) & the pana cotta are some of the dishes I highly recommend here. Cant wait for my next visit.

This is a lovely restaurant, especially for a special occasion. The atmosphere and the food are superb. Upstairs at Suba is also a nice change of pace.

We always dine there for milestone events like our 30th anniversary last year & our 60th birthdays this year. We love Valentines Days there. We’ve found a sublime, joyous, and romantic environment at Manga Qui with stellar creative meals and service to celebrate our life events. Office retirement luncheons are great there too. Guess this is a rave review well earned by the management and staff! Tim&Earl, Easton & Harrisburg & NYC

I’ve probably been to Mangia Qui ten times and I’ve never had anything but an excellent meal. The menu is put together with care using fresh ingredients, everything is cooked perfectly, the drinks are mixed mice and strong, and the service is excellent.

Mangia Qui is everything a restaurant should be and I think it’s the jewel of Harrisburg restaurants.
