So what’s with this web site that they don’t give you a chance to proof/ spell check/ or rate the stars? I see that every rating is devoid of stars,s,s,’s.
We have been twice now to Molly Branigan’s and twice had good experiences for the most part. The interior is cool and the exterior(on two streets, Walnut & Second) is what you might expect of Old World Ireland. The food was acceptable and the wait satff freindly enough. Now I have to admit that we did stay three hours in the corner having a bit of a “business” meeting, so I don’t fault too much the waitress for looking past us. I had the fish and chips which I must say could have been a bit less greasy. Perhaps pushing the oil too fast? The apps and salads were all good and actually the popcorn shrimp was as good as I ahve had anywhere. The location and drink selection are very positive and overall I would give it three out of five pushing for four.
This used to be one of my favorite bars on Second St - but it seems that lately their staff is extremely unfriendly. When you ask the bartender for something as simple as a bottle of beer, they almost make it look like you’re bothering them. If you don’t like being a bartender or server, get a new job…
This would be a nice place if they could get their happy hour straightened out. Different bartenders charge different prices. Food is OK. WE don’t go anymore b/c the staff is unfriendly and they can’t quite figure out what to charge.
Fish and chips is great. So is the cob salad. Reuben was a bit greasy . . . probably one of those places where you have to stick with only one or two of their specialties and not go too far off the board.
