we love okini. usually get the rolls and yung chow fried rice. just wonderful. :)

I went to Okini today after driving by a few. I was happy to find the prices were reasonable and the food excellent. We had the kalamari and a few rolls, and both were amazing. Be sure to try the kalamari appetizer and the spicy shrimp roll!

Good food, decent prices. The lunch specials are a great value. I’d recommend the mango chicken, for sure.

Whenever a certain coworker and i work together on nights at our hotel we always order okini, the first time was perfect but the last couple of times the sushi arrived warm and our chicken satay with peanut sauce arrived cold. we tried complaining but they didn’t say to much about it. And delivery took over and hour each time…very disappointed in the service, and im sure the food would be great if it arrived well prepared..but i think im done with okini unfortuantly

Okini is just OK. The rolls are good, but our dishes and silverware were dirty. The service was slow. And - what I think is the worst part - is that the rolls are over priced. I’m happy to pay $13 for a roll, but I better be special and big. The rolls I got are what I get at Miyako for $8.

Okini is the best sushi place in the area. I tried another place last night and was so disappointed since I have been spoiled by Okini. Yummy roll is amazing. Mango shrimp dish is out of this world. Seaweed salad is awesome. Spicy tuna is the best I have ever had. And they have Thai tea!

Food was great, especially the presentation. The inside is very nice, so don’t let the outside deter you.
on the bad side… Service was slow. The servers didn’t bring out all the meals at once, there was 5-10 minutes between each meal ‘delivery’ and the wrong food was brought to our table twice.
I’ll definitely go again, but not unless I have the time to wait.

Went there for lunch today and even though it was packed the food came out quite quickly. This places is becoming my favorite sushi place in HBG

My wife and I have been here several times since opening and have always loved the food. Their sushi is always very fresh and holds up to our high standards. The staff is always very courteous and the sushi chef is very accomodating as well. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, as they don’t seem to have a lot of wait staff on hand at all times, but it’s understandable when it gets busy.

Best sushi I have ever had. The service was excellent and the sashmi melted in your mouth. Highly recommended.

Finally checked this place out tonight and I concur with all of the positive reviews. For the price the food was great. We tried the sushi rolls, spring rolls, pad thai and fried rice with beef, chicken and shrimp. When you can eat this much food for less than $40 out for two, you’ve found a good place. It is BYO and we brought our own beverages.
The service could have been better, but I think the problem was mainly with our waiter. People next to us were getting served more quickly with someone different.
I’ll definitely be back and next time I’ll bring more people. There is so much on their giant menu I want to try!

I’ve been to Okini several times and have had wonderful food and great service. I always leave feeling full and satisfied. I’m recommending Okini to everyone I know.

I dont need you to believe my story, but at the same time why would I make something like that up. I agree with you when you say that their sushi is incredible, its the best ive had and their service was always good. This was a terrible incident that had happened and i was most upset bc you would never expect it from such a nice place. [this comment has been moderated]

I would have to say that the last review of this restaurant really seems strange to me. I’ve been to Okini twice and had nothing but exceptional service and quality of food. I really find it hard to believe your story about the sushi chef, who I have met and find perfectly courteous. If you ask me, I’d say that Okini is definitely worth trying, especially if you love incredible sushi.

I was so excited when this place went in bc it is right down the street from me. I was a regular there once a week and loved their food. One day I went in and was enjoying my meal until i heard the suhi chef hacking luggy’s behind the sushi bar. He may have been sick but there was no need to spit behind the bar and god knows what he was spitting on. I completely lost my appetite and called the waiter over for my check and told him i was disgusted by what happened, then he laughed in my face and told everyone else what happened and they all came out of the kitchen and started laughing at me. i was shocked at what was happening and i left in tears. i havent been back since. so beware of any slimey substance in your food at this place…

This place has exceptional sushi. I definitely recommend giving it a try as it is well worth it. Prices are very reasonable, and the service is exceptional. You won’t be dissapointed.

Wonderful Asian fusion cuisine. Owner of GoBo, another wonderful Pan-Asian restaurant formerly located on Lucknow Blvd. and now closed. Terrific variety, good fish and seafood. Good sushi chef onsite.
