We have been enjoying Passage to India for years. Three of us go consistently. We usually order the Chicken Tikka Misala, Lamb Vindalo and either a Saag dish or Tandoor. We have never had a bad meal. The waiters are always attentive, especially when pouring your Taj beer and asking if you’d like another ;-}. Great place!!! Don’t miss the experience!
What a great dining experience. Wife and I shared an appetizer of Samosas which is a pastry shell with a filling of spiced potatoes, onion, peas, and some other stuff I couldn’t identify. They were awesome. We both had the Chicken Tiki Massala and it was over the top. We ordered our’s “medium spicy” (they’ll make it as spicy as you like). The spicy’ness was just perfect for us. The portion sizes were large enough that we brought home leftovers to heat up for dinner the next day. Highly recommend it. They were just a tad slow on taking our order, but after we flagged someone down, we were off and running our way through a great meal.
I am a big fan of Passage to India. I usually get the chicken or lamb vindaloo (they will make it as spicy as you desire), and I have friends that like the vegetable korma. The plain and garlic naan are both excellent. The service is typically good, although there have been a few cases where they forgot to bring the check, in which case you can just walk up to the register and pay.
A slice of India on the Susquehana - I usually stick with the chicken tikka masala, or the vindaloo when I’m feeling spicy. Excellent naan cooked on site in the tandoor - Dont miss the sweet Passage naan, made with currents and coconut - Amazing. Quench the thirst with a Taj Mahal beer, and life is all good.
My boyfriend and I had never had Indian food before but we wanted to try it and had heard good things about Passage. While I really did enjoy the flavors in my chicken biryani and thought the rice and spices were exceptional…I felt that the chicken in all our dishes was dried out and tasteless. The bf had chicken tikka and really enjoyed it. He didn’t seem to notice the chicken was kind of dry, but his idea of haute cuisine is Montreal wings. The biryani portions were huge and I got about 3-more meals out of that doggie bag.
Coming from England (curry is huge and a weekly meal must) it very nice and fresh as far as Indian goes. Very impressive veggie options as mentioned and the staff is very nice.
My favorite restaurant in Harrisburg. Hands down. I have tried every vegetarian offering (no I’m not vegetarian, it’s just how I enjoy my Indian food) and I can tell you there’s not one that disappoints.
Meat entrees are great too. Wonderful, wonderful Indian food.

The food is good, but in my opinion, not as exceptional as everyone claims.
