It is definitely no longer a Moroccan, I am so dissappointed. The service was poor. I have tried many foods from around the world and there was not anything I wanted off that menu. We ordered dessert so as to not be rude by getting up and walking out. We got our tea in 15 mins and 45 mins later still no dessert. So we left. I really miss the old Sahara. They won’t last long, we were the only ones there on a friday night.

We went to Sahara last weekend. I’m pretty sure it has changed ownership, as it is no longer Moroccan, but Somalia cuisine. The menu on their website is significantly different that what is offered now. I hate to say it, but I dont think I will return to this new version of the restaurant. We called ahead and asked if it was BYOB, they said yes, but when we walked in with a bottle of wine - they looked alarmed and said that we couldn’t bring it inside.. .OK fine. When we walked in there were a large group of guys just looking at us, we didn’t know if we should sit down or what… it was very odd. I got a vegetarian dish and hummus - I never got the soup or salad that was supposed to come with the dish… but I sorta didn’t care because the restaurant was very empty, very quiet (besides a group of guys that worked there or were just friends of the owners?), and I felt sorta awkward there. The food was good, but by the end of the meal, I was just glad to leave. Maybe others could comment, but I had a very weird experience.

A wonderful evening! We met with new friends for dinner at Sahara and enjoyed it very much. The food and atmosphere were great and the server (I believe it was the owner’s wife) was very helpful and accommodating. I would recommend this restaurant.

We recently went with another couple and were very delighted with our dining experience. We’ve had Moroccan once before, and Sahara was so much better!

We had the 4 course meal and were not disappointed. Portion sizes are generous and the food is delishous. We’ll try this again1

Sahara was a bit disappointing. I’ve been to Morocco several times and the dishes found at Sahara do NOT compare to what you find in Morocco (even though the owners are from Casablanca). I thought the prices were expensive for what you received. I will not be returning. However, the server was very kind. If you ever get the chance, go to Morocco and experience the true taste. You won’t be disappointed.

The Harrisburg area doesn’t have very many places that serve different ethnic cuisines. When we heard about Sahara we were very excited to sample Moroccan cuisine.

The back of the restaurant has divans, ottomans, and cushions. The themed decor definitely added more to the dining experience. The food was okay. The Prince Bastilla appetizer was an interesting mix of savory and sweetness. It’s definitely a must try on the menu. The sweet mint tea is also another must try. The prices were pretty reasonable. The service was friendly, but slow.

Sahara is one of those restaurants that you have to try out for yourself. I can definitely see why it can be a hit or miss for some. I’m not sure if we’ll be returning, but it was worth going at least once.

This place really is great. One hair in someones plate is going to keep you from going to a restaurant again? Really. Anyhow, the atmosphere is really nice and the food I’ll admit was incredible, definitely a flavor that is well unique and worth trying. Don’t listen to the peanut gallery here.. try it for yourself you will enjoy the experience.

I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to having a great dining experience and was let down. I remember the atmosphere was ok and the food was ok - up until I received my entre with a hair in it. Now - that’s really all I can remember. I never said anything to management - cuz - really it was too late to do anything - I wont eat there again.
