What a disappointment! I feel like I should ask for my money and my time back! I was looking for something exciting and received bland. I ate there a couple of years ago and it was amazing! What happened?
Stocks on 2nd has a nice atmosphere and unique rather tasty dishes. I wish they’d bring back the seared Tuna with mashed potatoes and the triple tuna dish they had two or three summers ago! The menu can be a little pricey however.
It’s really just one small step up from all the other seafood grills on the row. For the price I prefer fresh flavors/local produce and a decent wine list. If you are stuck on the row then its your best bet.. until Cafe Fresco raises their bar or just walk down the street to Mangia Qui for almost the same price but worth every bite.
I recently had dinner at Stock’s with a group of colleagues. I’ll start by saying each one of us talked about it the whole next week. Each one of us felt the food, service, and atmosphere was out of this world. We started by ordering one of those shrimp appetizers and ended up ordering 6 more! They were amazing, to say the least. The flavors were alive and melted in your mouth. I personally thought the presentation was genius. It was very fresh and innovative. It looked like something on the cover of Food & Wine magazine. We all agreed that we would definitely be back.
First and formost: I am a fan of this restaurant/ the culinary genius of it’s owners. they are the pinnacle of entrepenaurs. THE FOOD IS NOT THAT GREAT. i am; however happier to shell out $200 for me and my fiancee here than anywhere else on restaurant row. Mr. Woltman Shrimp do not fly: put them on the fucking plate. salt and pepper my man, taste your food. best restaurant in harrisburg by far……the food is a step behind. your waitstaff is your saving grace, both times ive had a gentleman who reminded me of Mike J. Fox(maybe its a stretch) he is spot-on always. great restaurant but best chef in PA…..are you kidding me! season your food and clean up your plates. if you ever serve me that hamachi with that much bloodline again i might have to throwdown with you right then in there, Bobby Flay style, but not really though.
At the end of the evening, you’ll find yourself debating over which bite was the best. Every dish is better than the last! The food is unbelievable! We’ve been to all the “fine dining” spots around and nothing impressed us like this. We’re planning a party at Stock’s very soon. This place is worth bragging about!
Absolutely stunning!! We’ve been twice in two weeks and had the privilege of dining from the “autumn/winter” menu last week and the “winter/spring” menu this week. We were so wowed that we requested a visit from the chef, who was impressive and humble all at the same time. Later we learned that Chef Woltman was awarded the “Best Chef of PA” for the entire region. They were right!! You have to try his aerodynamic shrimp appetizer. It was amazing to look at and featured “flying” shrimp and multi flavored sauces. I would recommend this establishment to any lover of food.
Innovative menus that change with the seasons. Excellent service, friendly and comfortable. Have dined here many times, have only had one issue with a meal ( a chicken breast that was edible but lackluster )
