Great service n Exlt FOOD…. REAL TREAT!
Mother’s Day at the Cellar- First time there and a very plesant experience. We ate upstairs, going down to the food really wasn’t difficult at all. The food and the wait staff were more than satisfactory. And then to be presented with a very ample box of chocolates, how to end a perfect experience. I’ve had meals at country clubs and other upscale restaurants in the area, over the years. But this was the best. Good job Dunphy’s!
I’ll stop by again when I am in the area.
Mother’s Day brunch @ The Cellar. Another home run for Nick Dunphy and Cellar. What a pleasant time, good food, relaxed surroundings, great service (thanks again, Melissa!) Nick, don’t wait until next year to have another Sunday brunch. How about pioneering the idea of the Father’s Day brunch??
Had a very nice meal at The Cellar last Friday. Service was attentive but not “pushy.” Menu was not extensive, but adequate, and server was knowledgeable about the dishes. (There was a misspelling on the specials board, though. “Arctic” has a “C” in the middle! Argh!)
I started with the Sesame Panko Chicken Skewers. When they were served, my wife said they were burned. While that was the appearance, it was merely the panko “crust.” Chicken was tender and hot, and the aioli delicious.
I ordered the Local Ricotta Ravioli with wild mushrooms. Incredible! The ricotta tasted like none I had ever had. Really flavorful! And the mushrooms were terrific. My wife - who never orders duck because she often finds it too fatty - ordered the duck special with bok choy and was very impressed. Not fatty at all, and tender delicious. She also raved over the bok choy.
The desserts didn’t impress, but we were too full to order anyway. The coffee was just okay, and there is no espresso, maybe the only negative. All in all, we would definitely go back. Appetizer, two entrées and coffee were less than $64., minus tip.
The Cellar is a welcome addition to the local restaurant scene.
This is the perfect restaurant for anyone who is interested in organic, local, REAL food. Everything was beyond amazing, fresh and prepared on site. Our order came a little backward or there was some miscommunication, for which our server did not charge us for our appetizer or dessert. I consider the prices to be very reasonable, they were comparable to the prices at Stocks or any other fine dinning establishment. I would recommend they acquire a liquor license, that way they would make more money on the alcohol and charge a little less for the food, so that people on the west shore that are not accustom to such prices are not turned off by them. I’ve read a few negative reviews online, but knowing people in the industry, I would say that being a chef and being a good restaurant manager are two different things. If your looking for good food, come to the Cellar. If your looking for fast food, that is why they invented places like McDonald’s.
Anyways, we were really happy and plan on coming back.
I just found this restaurant a few weeks ago. Went twice in one week. The Chef is to be commended. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Ate here for V-day, and it was packed, usually when it is so overwhelmed service is sub-par and food typically is not that great. Not the case here, EVERYTHING was great. When I called last minute, and I called BRICCO, ZIA’s, Manqui Qui,Aloius,Visagios, and they were the ONLY ones that accomedated me with only 4 days notice. And both my wife and I are glad they did!

My wife and I went to The Cellar on Valentines Day. Given the history of many establishments at this location we were a bit sceptical. However, we were very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed everything. We both started with a soup. The lobster bisque was less thick than I anticipated but was full of flavor. My wife also enoyed her potato soup. For dinner I had the Tuna, which was superb. My wife’s lamb was also very tasty! (of course I had to have a bite of it too) Even the salad was incredible.
The service was extraordinarily prompt given the place was packed for the Holiday. Even the management staff was not too busy to check in with our table. The box of chocolates for the ladies on the way out the door was also a nice touch.
If the quality and service are maintained this will surely become one of the hotest places in town. We will definitely be coming back soon!
My husband and I loved the food. I got the petite tenderloin and it was the perfect size for me, not too big but I left satisfied. My husband loved the crab mac-n-cheese. This is our new restaurant!
Excellent service… Had the Sesame encrusted Tuna..Fresh and prepared like a piece of art. My Husband had the Ny Strip Special has he enjoyed tremendously. Our waitress was smiley, prompt, and friendly Our bill was still under $50 and we were pleasantly stuffed. Yum… Our new fav restaurant!!
Great service and the chicken parm was delicious! Other members of my party enjoyed their meal as well…
