   I went here with a meetup.com group on Saturday, May 22nd at 7:30pm. Our group was given reservations days in advance although we were told they normally do not do this.

   Wait staff - our waitress handled our large group very well.

   Food - I can make better stuff at home from my nearly barren kitchen.

   Price - if this were downtown Harrisburg I would have been OK with the prices. However they’re in Hummelstown serving a limited diner menu. The prices are about 25% more than I would be willing to pay…had the food been top notch. Once you factor in quality the prices now seem 35% higher than they need to be. $11 for a bacon cheeseburger and fries? Really?

   Management - Ever see Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares? The one where the owner/manager thinks his idea is so hot he can blow off any complaints he receives? Yeah? Well if you’d like to see that in action visit The Gas Station. The manager did not care one bit that our 20 member meetup group had to split the bill ourselves and refused to take partial payments via credit card. We were told the reason for this was that the management was too cheap to buy a real POS (point of sale) system and bought used pizza shop software.

   If you’re looking for an overpriced pretentious upscale bar then you’ve found the right place. It would be an alternative to going downtown if you live in the area but not worth going out of your way for.

   Good not-fancy food. We tried the pulled pork sandwich, the roasted chicken w/mac, and the burger w/bacon and cheese “Large Plates.” Everyone was satisfied. Portions are abundant. Service was excellent and very friendly. Beer selection is superb. Parking not a problem. We will be going back.
