Wow! I can see why this place is for sale and never has anyone there. Waited 45 minutes for a salad and fish and chips. Salad was so saturated with dressing I couldn’t eat it and the fish and chips were as black as the road. Waitress spent most of her time at the next table eating crab legs in front of us while we kept waiting and waiting and waiting for our food. Wouldn’t recommend it to a homeless person.
Make yourself a huge favor, by any means, don’t visit The Quarter in Harrisburg PA.
I went two weeks ago with my wife and another couple looking for a good place with good food and this looks like the right place. It was literally empty. It is a very nice decorated place with bad food and lots of bad attitudes from the waiters and bartenders. The food was cold, overprice and late. The waiters careless attitude didn’t help at all. We ended up leaving, paying for the food and went to Sawyer (the difference is from heaven to earth). The Quarter management needs to clean the house. The “Ghetto Attitude” is not a good customer service policy. It was so bad that I didn’t have the change to grab their names to make them public.
I’ll be amaze if this place is open for two more weeks, but I guess that the $300 that I spent on Sawyer doesn’t make any sense to them.
This is the new standard for bad food and service for me and my wife. I normally tip no matter what but drew the line this time and did not. The owner of this establishment needs to clean house. Everything from the alzheimer waitresses to the chefs dropping food on the floor, laughing about it an putting in on a plate to go out. I could not believe that a place with such potential is so poorly managed. If you are just havin a beer it would be a great place, but if you are seeking cajun food this is not the place to go. Do not expect authentic cajun food here.
The first time I yried this place I just stood at the bar watching the bartenders stand around talking to each. They never once looked my way or waited on anyone else! And I was one of the very few people at the bar! The place was pretty empty (now I kow why) I had to leave and go across the street just to get a drink. About 3 months later I tried again and had the same experinece… I don’t understand how that level of horrible service can persist. I will never return unless they change owners…
Ok, so let’s be honest. When it comes to food and service the quarter is hands down one of the worst places in Harrisburg that you could go. A friend of mine decided this would be a good place to take a group of people for his birthday, only to quickly realize his mistake! I read a few of these reviews before I went, and so I wasn’t expecting anything wonderful, but still managed to be horrified by what I found at this place. The bad food and bad service are one thing, but the unsanitary conditions in which food is prepared in completely unacceptable.
While, I’ll only go into detail on my meal, rest assured, every meal at our 10 person table was, at least in part, screwed up.
I ordered a crab cake and the fish of the day, as well as a baked potato and a Caesar salad as a side. The kitchen is open so you are able to watch the cooks preparing the food. You could easily tell one of the cooks was stoned off his ***. None of them had any gloves on, no hair nets (though one of them truly needed one). They were walking back and forth, talking on the cell phone, reaching down in their pants, all while preparing our food.
When the food got there, the crab cake was not cooked (it was warm, but not cooked at all), the fish had some sort of poultry seasoning on it which made it taste like baked chicken. My baked potato was a no show, and the Caesar salad wasn’t a Caesar salad at all. I was given a bunch of iceberg lettuce with mozzarella cheese and croutons on the top. To make things even better, it was placed on my main plate where the baked potato should have been. All this and they wanted $23.95 for this meal from hell. Obviously I sent it back and decided to fill up on beer. Take warning, the quarter sucked before, it sucks now, and as long as it’s managed by the same people, it will most likely continue to suck for the foreseeable future.

Once again, don’t go there, you’ll regret it.
